Happy first day of summer! Let’s be real for a sec….I actually hate the summer. The heat in San Antonio is absolutely miserable and I seriously can’t wait for fall to be here! But it’s an inevitable thing every year, so I try and make the best of it….I just don’t go outside. Ever. Unless there’s a pool or a lake in front of me haha.
I thought today would be the perfect day to go over my favorite skin care products to protect, hydrate, and cool your skin during the summer months. The best part is that you can get 4 of the 5 of these products from your local Target or Walgreens. So here they are!
Evian Facial Spray – I always carry this with me during the summer, especially if I’m going to be outside for a long period of time, like at the lake or pool. I spray this all over my face whenever I get really hot and it gives my skin a shot of coolness and moisture.
Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist – I love this stuff! This spray is very lightweight and brings a ton of hydration to my face. I use this right before I apply any makeup to prep and hydrate my skin, but it can be used any time for whenever you need a refreshing boost. **FYI, I believe Target is the only place that carries Pixi products.
Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen – This is a must for the summer! Usually I don’t like wearing sunscreen on my face (especially under my makeup) because many of them are really oily and cause my makeup to apply unevenly. However, this one does not do that. It’s very light and is also oil-free, so it doesn’t feel like you have sunscreen on your face. I’ve been wearing this every day recently! I apply it after my moisturizer has absorbed into my skin.
Carmex Cherry Lip Balm SPF 15 – One important step that is often missed during the summer is using SPF on your lips. Many people will use their favorite lip balm or chapstick, however if it doesn’t have SPF in it, your lips are not protected. And sunburnt lips are not fun! This one is my favorite because it’s very moisturizing and it lasts for a good amount of time. I carry it with me all the time so I can reapply as I need to.
Tarte Drink of H2O Moisturizer – I. LOVE. THIS. It has quickly become my favorite moisturizer. I think it’s great for the summer because it’s more like a gel, which is really refreshing, and it gives my skin a surge of moisture. I have gone through 2 jars of it. I actually finished my 2nd jar today, so after I post this, I’m running to Sephora to get another one!
