Happy Monday, friends! This past week, I was sent the new Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Perfector, so I went ahead and tried it on my skin this weekend and wanted to share my thoughts on it.
Things I LIKE:
- Super lightweight. It felt like I wasn’t wearing foundation. After I played with it a bit (you’ll see in the video) and figured out what worked best with it, I did like the way it finished on my skin after it had a chance to set.
- At first, the shade was a little too orange on my skin, but after it set for a while, it adjusted to the perfect shade.
- The packaging. I like squeeze bottles because it allows me to control how much I’m applying.
- The consistency. It’s a very thin formula, so it doesn’t feel cakey or heavy.
- Does not settle into fine lines. Always a plus!
Things I DISLIKE:
- Not enough coverage. I realize this is a “skin tint” so I’m sure it was made to be more of a lightweight foundation, however for me personally, I need at least a LITTLE coverage, and I felt like this gave little to no coverage. I actually like lightweight foundations and don’t mind if my freckles and moles peek through, but I also need for a foundation or CC cream to cover my redness. This did not do that at all, as you’ll see in the video…
- Not easy to work with. I tried to apply this with a brush, a Beauty Blender, and my fingers, and honestly didn’t like the way it applied with any. With the foundation brush and Beauty Blender, I felt like it didn’t really blend well and sort of “disappeared” on my skin. I added another layer and still had the same issue. So in the video, I used my fingers…and well….you’ll see how that went lol. I ended up using my Artis Oval 7 Brush and liked it much better.
- It dried way too fast. This is another reason why it wasn’t easy to work with. I feel like I barely had enough time to blend it before it was already dry and patchy.
Overall:
I don’t think I will be purchasing this product in the future, as I think there are many other lightweight foundations, CC creams, and tinted moisturizers that are much better. Someone with oily skin might like this product a bit better than I did, but even then, I still think it was too difficult to work with. It’s also not worth the price tag, in my opinion.
