Hi, friends! When I first heard that Morphe was coming out with FOUNDATION, I was sooo excited to get my hands on it and try it out for myself. I am a huge liquid foundation lover and I really enjoy trying out new ones when they release. I have a full video review and wear-test linked below, so if you would rather watch my video review instead, just click on it below!
I figured I would put together a blog post as well, just in case some of you don’t have the time to watch the video. I wore this foundation, concealer, and primer for about 12 hours! Here are my thoughts:
The Foundation:
- It is a MATTE foundation. It is not dewy or hydrating AT ALL. It’s actually a bit drying. But with that being said, after wearing it for 12 hours, my skin still looked amazing and I really loved it! People with oily skin are really going to enjoy this foundation. If you have normal-dry skin, I think you would still love it as long as you prep and hydrate your skin before applying. I would also add in a drop of a beauty oil or enhancer drops to the foundation to give it a little bit more luminosity.
- The coverage is amazing and a little goes a LONG way. If you apply too much, it could look very cakey. In my opinion, less is more with this foundation.
- It is very easy to blend. I found that it looks great with either a damp beauty sponge or brush. I honestly didn’t see a difference between the two tools.
- This foundation dries VERY quickly, so I would recommend applying to half of your face first, blending that out, then applying the other half of your face. Once it dries, it DRIES. Which I think in this case is a good thing because it does not move throughout the day, you can’t feel it on your face, and powder products blend beautifully on top of it.
- Because this is more of a dry foundation, I personally don’t feel that cream products, like cream bronzer or blush, would blend well on top of it.
- It can be really difficult to find your shade online, especially when you have 60 shades to choose from. I think it’s awesome that Morphe has a foundation finder quiz to help you find your exact shade for your skintone.
The Concealer:
- This is a very full coverage concealer and it has a very smooth finish.
- I was very impressed with the formula. It has great coverage without being really thick.
- Very easy to blend and a little goes a long way, similar to the foundation.
- It did crease a TINY bit under my eyes and on my eye lids, but it wasn’t bad at all, especially after 12 hours. I have many other concealers that crease way more than this one did.
- This is also a pretty matte concealer, so if you are looking for something hydrating, this is not it.
The Primer:
- I got the Revitalizer primer since it’s more hydrating. The formula feels like a thicker cream but with a velvety and soft finish.
- It made my skin look hydrated and very smooth.
- I love the way it wore under the foundation. I was wearing it for 12 hours and the foundation didn’t move around on my face AT ALL. At the end of the night, it almost looked like I had just applied the foundation.
- I do wish the bottle was a bit bigger, but for $12, I can’t complain.
Overall, I think all 3 of these products are really great, especially for the price. Even though the foundation and concealer both have a matte finish, which I normally don’t prefer, these really are exceptions for me and I highly recommend them!
