Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I love making new memories and seeing new places, but the one thing that I don’t love is that sometimes traveling can really affect my skin. Being in a different climate, bad food, alcohol, not enough water, etc… all of that can really cause your skin to freak out. Because of that, it’s very important to stick to a good skincare routine, especially when you travel, so that your skin stays balanced and hydrated.
In today’s post, I’ll be going through my skincare routine when I travel. It’s very simple, and is pretty much identical to my morning skincare routine every day. I will also be introducing y’all to a new moisturizer I’ve been using that I haven’t been able to put down since I started using it a couple of weeks ago. So let’s get to it!
Step 1: Cleanse – cleansing the skin is SO important in order to remove dirt, makeup, and excess oils. I always cleanse the skin for at least 30 seconds to make sure I am getting a really good deep clean of the skin.
Step 2: Tone – after cleansing, I apply toner to help bind moisture to my skin. This also helps with tightening the pores and protecting skin against environmental contaminants.
Step 3: Eye cream – I know eye cream is a step that many people skip, but to me, it’s super important to use an eye cream because that is the most delicate skin on your body and you want it to be properly treated. That is the area of your face that starts aging the quickest, so why wouldn’t you want to protect it? Eye cream helps keep your under eyes hydrated and will also prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
Step 4: Moisturize – My favorite step!! I could not go one day without moisturizing my skin. I am a person that loves trying new products, and I have recently fallen in love with a new moisturizer that I’ve been using for the last couple of weeks.
- OLAY REGENERIST WHIP FACE MOISTURIZER – this one is a great choice for those of you who have oily/combination skin because this moisturizer has more of a matte finish and is super lightweight and breathable. It also dries very quickly, sort of similar to how a primer would finish on the skin.
- OLAY REGENERIST MICRO-SCULPTING CREAM – this one is a great choice if you have normal-dry skin because it is very rich and nourishing. This has more of a creamier feel and provides a big boost of hydration. This is a very luxurious feeling product and it smells AMAZING.
Both of these moisturizers diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles and actively hydrate to improve elasticity and firm skin for a lifted look. The active ingredients in both of these products are Vitamin B3 and Amino-Peptide Complex II. Vitamin B3 regenerates surface cells and strengthens the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Each Regenerist jar contains as much B3 as 2,500 cups of kale! Amino-Peptide Complex II improves skin’s elasticity, smoothness, and firmness.
Step 5: Face Oil – adding in a face oil will help bring more moisture to the skin and will also help with hyper pigmentation and sun damage. If you have oily skin, I would also highly recommend using a face oil to help balance the skin and prevent excess oil from forming.
Step 6: Sunscreen – the last step of my routine is adding sunscreen to my skin to protect it from the sun. The sun is one of the leading causes of aging, fine lines, and wrinkles, so if you aren’t using sunscreen every day, you should definitely start!
This may seem like a lot of steps, but this whole routine only takes me 5 minutes. Watch THIS VIDEO to see these steps in action!
