Hi, friends! In this post I will be sharing my entire nighttime skincare routine as well as the products I am currently using and loving. I do like to switch up my products every once in a while because I love trying new things, but the routine always stays the same!
If you are interested in my morning skincare routine, I will link the post HERE. My nighttime routine is actually very similar to my morning routine, I just use a few different products! If you’d like to see these steps in action, head over to my INSTAGRAM! I’ll be posting my routine to my stories and also adding a highlight to my IG page called “Nighttime Skincare”.
So let’s get into it!
Step 1: Remove Makeup
I don’t wear makeup every single day, but on the days that I do, this is always my first step. I use my favorite micellar water EVER to remove my makeup (I LOVE this brand so much). Not only does it easily melt off your makeup without having to pull or tug on your skin (like you do with wipes), but it’s very gentle on the skin and doesn’t irritate it like some micellar waters do. I’ve tried many brands, and they all seem to make my skin super red and irritated. This is the only one I have tried that works well on my sensitive skin. I just apply a little to a cotton pad, put the cotton pad over my eye and let it sit there for about 30 seconds so that it can soak into my lashes and eye makeup. Then I rub gently and all of the makeup just melts off!
You can use code KRISTLE10 to get 10% off of your order! Many products I am going to talk about are from this brand, so you can use this code on those products too!
Step 2: Cleanse
Using the micellar water alone does not cleanse the skin entirely, so just remember to always use a face cleanser after you have removed your makeup. THIS cleanser is my favorite of all time! It removes all makeup, makes your skin super clean without overdrying it, and it’s also very gentle and non-irritating.
A few times a week, I use THIS TOOL to cleanse my skin because it deep cleans 10x more effectively than using your hands alone. I think everyone should be using some kind of facial cleansing brush a few times a week to remove excess dirt, oil, and makeup from your pores.
Step 3: Tone
After I cleanse, I tone the skin using THIS toner. This is also another holy grail product for me. I spray it directly onto my skin and let it dry, and then go in with the rest of my skincare. This really helps to keep my skin balanced and hydrated.
Step 4: Serum
Serums are a super important part of your skincare routine. They shrink your pores, smooth your skin, reduce/prevent fine lines & wrinkles, and help the skin to retain moisture. I switch off between two serums each night. I use THIS serum 3-4 nights a week. Because it resurfaces the skin and is made with an AHA/BHA acid blend, it’s only recommended to use every other night. This serum has made such a difference in my skin and in the morning, it looks very hydrated, youthful, and supple.
On the other nights of the week, I use THIS serum, which I also love. It’s much more gentle, and it makes my skin super smooth and clear.
Step 5: Moisturize + Face Oil
I like to switch up my night moisturizers based on how my skin feels. There are a few I love and use regularly. The most hydrating moisturizer I have is THIS ONE. It’s a thicker formula, so I don’t prefer to use this during the day. I love using a thicker cream for nighttime. So when my skin feels dry, this is my favorite product to use.
When my skin feels normal and hydrated enough, I love to use THIS at night. I really love this product because it has retinol in it, which is great for reducing wrinkles and stimulating collagen. This product makes my skin SO smooth and the formula of this is so velvety soft. You can use this nightly, however since my skin is dry, I love to use the first product I mentioned 4-5 times a week because it gives my skin ultimate hydration.
No matter what moisturizer I use, I always add a few drops of THIS OIL to it to give my skin extra hydration and to keep it balanced. I have been using a face oil for years, morning and night, and I think it’s such an important addition to any skincare routine, even if you have oily skin!
Step 6: Eye Cream
My all time favorite eye cream is THIS ONE, however I prefer to use it as part of my morning routine since it sinks into the skin very well, hydrates my undereyes, and sits really well under concealer. However for nighttime, I like to use THIS ONE because it provides my undereyes with INTENSE hydration, which is perfect for nighttime.
Step 7: Lip Mask
THIS product is by far the best thing I’ve ever used on my lips. I actually use this morning and night. I apply this right before bed and I wake up to the softest, smoothest lips. I haven’t had to use a lip scrub once since I’ve started using it! You only need the tiniest amount, so a little goes a long way. One jar will last you such a long time!
And that’s it for my routine! I am very dedicated and strict with my morning and nighttime skincare routine. Being in my mid 30’s, it’s something I don’t let myself slack on! This may seem like a lot of steps, but I feel like each one is necessary to keeping my skin looking as young and healthy as possible. My routine doesn’t take me more than about 10-15 minutes and it’s something I really enjoy doing each day. I hope this post helped in some way and if you don’t have any kind of day or night skincare routine, hopefully this post inspires you to start one!
