For today’s Beauty Tip Tuesday, I’m going to be sharing my top 6 tips on how to get that bronzed, glowy skin…..the “JLo Glow” as some people would call it haha. The products linked at the end of this post are some of my favorite products to achieve this dewy look. It’s simple and great for summer, but I honestly create it all year long, even in the winter, because I love it so much.
Tip 1: Use a non-mattifying primer. The Too Faced Hangover Rx is my favorite hydrating primer, and it smells like coconuts! I have found that it keeps my skin super hydrated and it makes my makeup last all day. Avoid the thicker primers that mattify the skin.
Tip 2: Apply an illuminating face base to your skin right before you apply foundation. This will provide a subtle glow underneath your foundation that will peek through and create a natural radiance to your skin. My favorite is the MAC Strobe Cream (in shade Goldlite). I also wear this alone on my face when I’m not wearing makeup and it just makes my skin look youthful and healthy.
Tip 3: Use a dewy, liquid foundation. I looove the Becca Aqua Luminous Foundation because it has a very radiant finish and it looks like your skin, but better. You will want to avoid any foundation that has a matte finish, because that will prevent the glow that you’re looking for. Also, I wouldn’t recommend using powder or powder foundation, because that will also create a matte finish. Other dewy foundations that I love are Loreal Pro-Glow or Loreal True Match Lumi.
Tip 4: Mix enhancer drops or liquid highlighter in with your foundation. I usually use 1-2 drops of the Cover Fx Enhancer Drops (in shade Sunlight) because they provide the perfect glow! And with this product, you really only need to add one drop to your foundation. A little goes a long way. Sometimes I will also use this to highlight my cheekbones.
Tip 5: Use a cream bronzer, then set with pressed bronzer. Any kind of cream or liquid products are automatically going to provide more glow to your skin and make your makeup look more natural. I know some people are intimidated by cream products like bronzer and blush, but the Chanel bronzer linked below is soooo easy to use. I just use an angled synthetic blush brush, swirl it around in the product, and apply it to the areas where I would normally use bronzer (cheekbones, forehead, nose, jawline). This product really does a lot of the work for you because it blends like a dream. After I apply this, I set it with a pressed bronzer, like NARS Laguna, for some extra bronze color.
Tip 6: Highlight, highlight, and more highlight. For me, this is the key in making your skin glow. My favorite highlighters are from Becca, because they are really creamy and a little goes a LONG way. I go back and forth between my two favorite shades, Champagne Pop and Opal. Add highlighter to the highest points of your cheeks, down the center of your nose, and on your forehead above your brows. I also add highlight to my tear duct, brow bone, and on my eyelids as eye shadow. Adding it to these additional areas really makes all the difference for me.
I hope these tips helped! All of the products are linked below. Thanks for visiting!
