Happy November! Wow, I cannot believe October is over already. It’s going wayyyy too fast! In this past month, I’ve purchased some new beauty products that I have fallen in love with and haven’t been able to put down. They’ve quickly become part of my normal beauty routine. Some of these have even replaced my holy grail products that I never thought I would part ways with!
Eco Tools Beauty Sponge (Ulta or Target) – This product is a great dupe for the Beauty Blender, which is nice because it’s half the price. I was hesitant on how I would like it because when you first take it out of the package, it’s sort of stiff when you squeeze it, whereas the Beauty Blender is really soft. I was pleasantly surprised when I wet it to use it, because it turned very soft and bouncy, which is how beauty sponges should be. It blended out my foundation and concealer really nicely and didn’t soak up a lot of the product. I also love that it has a flat edge. I typically clean up my bronzer or contour with translucent powder when I blend too far down on my cheeks, so the flat edge makes that really easy to do. The smaller beauty sponge that it comes with is not so great, so if you find this sold individually, I would buy that instead of the duo pack.
Smashbox Brow Tech Matte Pencil (Sephora or Ulta) – I neverrrrr thought I would say this, but this product has replaced my Anastasia Brow Wiz. It’s around the same price, but you get so much more product, and honestly, it works the exact same.
Colourpop Double Play Blush/Highlight Palette (Online) – This palette is so gorgeous, and it’s great for traveling. This was the only blush and highlight I took with me on my recent trip to Vegas. The blush gives your cheeks the perfect pop of color and it’s such a great shade for any skin tone. I love the highlight because it’s not powdery like most highlighters can be. I really love the glowy finish it gives my skin.
Colourpop Blotted Lip in “Drip” (Online) – I have officially found my new favorite lip product. I had been wanting to try the Blotted Lips for the longest time and I finally got around to it. I am obsessed. If you’re like me and love a more natural pop of color on your lips, then this is perfect for you! I’m not huge into liquid lipsticks, high shine glosses, or really bright or dramatic lip shades (only on occasion), so the Blotted Lips are great for me because they give my lips a wash of color without making them look too over the top. You know how when you put on too much lipstick and you blot your lips with tissue to get a more muted color? Well, this is that in a tube. Hence the name “Blotted Lip” haha. And they’re only $5! So my next mission: buy all the colors.
It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin (Ulta) – I have only been using this product for about 2 weeks now, and let me just say….it’s amazing. I heard about this from one of my blogger friends and I was really excited because I’m always looking for products that will keep my hair soft and shiny. I spray this in my damp hair after I’ve showered and you can literally FEEL your hair getting softer as you run it through with your fingers. And it smells so good! This product will help keep your hair soft, shiny, and tangle-free.
LA Girl Pro Foundation & Concealer (Online or Ulta) – I recently did a review about these products which you can read here, but this foundation and concealer have been my go-to since I purchased them last month. The coverage, the finish, and the wearability is amazing, especially for the price!
Milani Baked Blush in “Luminoso” (Target, CVS, or Walgreens) – This is hands down my favorite drug store blush. It’s the perfect light pink/peachy color and I think it would work with any skin tone. It sort of reminds me of my favorite blush of all time, which is MAC Melba. I think it’s great because it’s one of those blushes that you can wear with anything, whether you’re wearing a dramatic smoky eye with a nude lip, or a more natural eye with a dramatic lip. It’s very versatile and great for every day wear.
NYX Wonder Stick (Ulta, NYX, or Target) – I have recently been into cream contouring because it gives a more natural finish, so I bought this to play with before I splurged on a high end contour stick. After using this, I really don’t feel the need to buy a high end brand because this one works great! The contour and highlight shade are both super creamy and pigmented, which makes this stick really easy to use. I know cream contour can be a little intimidating if you’ve never done it before, so this is a great buy if you’re wanting to practice with something easy and effective.
Benefit 24-Hour Brow Gel (Ulta or Sephora) – This brow gel gives some comp to the Anastasia Brow Gel, which is my holy grail. I haven’t decided which I like better, but I have been really impressed with this one. I’m still trying to decide how I feel about the wand (because it has a flat shape), but the gel itself is great and once you apply it, your brows seriously won’t move all day long.
Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette (Sephora) – This is an oldie but a goodie. I’ve had this palette for a while now, but for some reason didn’t reach for it much up until these last couple of weeks. I would definitely recommend using a brush that isn’t too dense, because these shades are super pigmented and if you apply too much, it can get ugly fast. While I was in Vegas last week, I actually used this palette as my eyeshadow and it was PERFECT for a matte, natural eye look. I loved it!
October was a good month for trying out new products. It’s one of my favorite things to do! I got really lucky and loved mostly everything I tried, which isn’t always the case! I hope y’all have a great rest of the week and thanks for reading!
