Today’s post is all about hair! A little over a month ago, Influenster sent me the new Biolage 3 Butter Control System. It included shampoo, conditioner, day cream, and an overnight mask. I LOVE trying new hair products, and out of everything I’ve tried, I have only found a couple that I can’t live without (Ouai Wave Spray and It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Spray). One of the things that I have never really had any luck in finding is a really good shampoo and conditioner that leaves my hair soft, shiny, healthy, tangle-free, and that is also free of sulfates and parabens.
Well…I have FINALLY found what I’m looking for! The new Biolage 3 Butter shampoo and conditioner is seriously so amazing, I can’t say enough good things about it. First off, it smells SO GOOD — like a mix of shea butter, cocoa butter, and coconut. After I use the shampoo, my hair feels really clean and moisturized. When I use the conditioner, my hair feels super soft before I even rinse it out. I hate using conditioners that don’t detangle. I like to actually FEEL my hair getting softer as I use the conditioner. This one does just that.
Another thing I love is that the shampoo lathers SO well and the conditioner is really creamy, so you don’t need much of either, even if you have really long hair like I do. Since the bottles are so big, they will last such a long time. I think this shampoo and conditioner is worth every penny and needless to say, they are new staples in my hair care routine.

I was also sent the Overnight Mask and the Day Cream. I will say that I was not too crazy about either of these products for the way they are intended to be used. I tried the overnight mask after I took a shower one night and applied it to my damp hair, as the instructions say to do. I wrapped my hair in a wrap and went to sleep, thinking that the next morning my hair would be really soft. What I woke up to was a HOT MESS lol. It looked like I had just put a handful of Crisco in my hair! The directions say that you can leave it in and style your hair as normal the next morning, but I highly doubt anyone could style their hair as normal with the overnight mask still in their hair. So I went ahead and rinsed it out and styled my hair as normal. I will say that my hair felt really soft and moisturized, and it kept my baby hairs in place (which I have a huge issue with haha). I will be reaching for this product again, but not on a daily basis.
I’ve tried the day cream a few times on my damp hair after I’ve showered as the directions say, but this product is not something I would use if I plan on blow drying my hair and wearing it down. It’s actually sort of sticky, and you can feel that as you’re applying it to your hair. I will use this product again as well, but only when I plan to wear my hair up/pulled back because I think it’s great for taming fly-aways and baby hairs (similar to the overnight mask).
Because I have medium, straight hair, it felt like these products weighed my hair down a bit and just made it look kind of greasy, like I hadn’t washed my hair in a few days, which is why they would work well for me if I’m not wearing my hair down. I’d be interested to see how these would work on someone with more course, curly hair.
